Saturday night Ed Westwick gathered a bunch of pals – including Gossip Girl costar Blake Lively and girlfriend Jessica Szhor, who flew in just to surprise him – for a 22nd birthday bash at New York’s Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge.

“Ed and Jessica were close and cuddly all night,” says a guest. “Everyone was friendly, having a lot of fun and were in good spirits.”

Birthday cake consisted of cupcakes with “HB ED” on top of each: red velvet, cookie dough, M&Ms, peanut butter, sprinkles, cookies & cream, with a single candle in the center cupcake for the birthday boy.

“Everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday,’ ” says the source. “Ed thanked everyone for coming and kissed Jessica – they were adorable.” For recreation, “Everyone bowled casually throughout the night- no one really finished a game.”

The stylish party rocked out to Kings of Leon and Notorious B.I.G. among other tunes and sipped on cucumber martinis or Amstel Light and Bud Light. Blake and Jessica, however, stuck to water. [People]

The couple entertained friends from their corner booth on the patio, and got especially cozy with each other. For dinner? Sushi, of course! And the two got a sweet start to their day, stopping at Sunset Plaza’s Buttercake Bakery for coffee and chocolate and vanilla cupcakes.
